The Regent is a stunning Modern Art Deco inspired building in the Alphabet Historic District of Northwest Portland. Built in 1937 and designed by Harry A. Herzog, this five story masonry building with a U-shaped courtyard showcases the modern emphasis on form of post-depression architecture in Portland. The Regent is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains to this day, one of Portland's favorite historical apartment buildings.
